• This website (where you are right now) — log in to browse conferences/topics and manage your notes from a browser. Requires an account you've already created; you can't register here.
• Web Terminal (button above) — the full BBS, running right in your browser tab. Nothing to install, and this is where you register a new account.
• A dedicated 3270 terminal emulator — a small program on your own computer that gives you the same full BBS as the Web Terminal, if you'd rather not use a browser tab for it.

Click Web Terminal above. Follow the on-screen prompts to register — pick a username, password, and fill in your email/city (used for password recovery). Once you have an account, you can keep using the Web Terminal for everything, or come back to this website and log in here too for the browser-based notes/conferences view.

Any 3270 terminal emulator will work. A common free, open-source option is wc3270 (Windows) or x3270 (Mac/Linux), from the x3270 project. Point it at:

• Host: mfbbs.emeraldvalley.net
• Port: 3270

Everything else — registering, reading conferences, chatting — works the same as the Web Terminal from there.
